Capability profile axes
Surface area. BET-method surface area expressed in m²/g. Drives adsorption capacity.
Adsorption breadth. Range of organics and dissolved metals the media engages under representative conditions.
Flow & infiltration. Hydraulic conductivity under design placement. Drops as particle size decreases.
Soil compatibility. Fit with living soil systems — pH, biology, root penetration.
Nutrient contribution. Contribution to plant-available nutrients and retention of applied inputs.
Carbon stability. H:C ratio and resistance to biological decomposition over century timescales.
